About Blule - Meet Clémentine 2026
Bonjour! I'm Clémentine 👋
I'm a French watercolour artist, colour maker, and the person behind Blule — painting from my sunny Sydney studio and sending colourful art around the world.
About the Name
Blule: pronounce it BLU-L, not BLUE-LÉ.
It doesn't mean anything in French or English — it's just a word I invented. A little contraction of words that feel like my art: light, blue, bleu, libellule (dragonfly), bulle (bubble), buller (to daydream). ✨
The Heart of Blule
I paint with watercolour, ink, and natural pigments (and the occasional burst of acrylic), creating art inspired by the things I love:
- ✨ Empowered women
- 🌊 Surf life
- 🌿 Botanicals
- 🎵 Pop icons
- 🐉 Whimsical dragons
Blule began in my little Paris apartment in 2010. Back then, I shipped paintings from my kitchen table. Today, my art has travelled to homes all over the world, but the spirit hasn't changed: each piece is still painted by hand, with heart, brushes, and a bit of magic. 💙

A Few Lovely Milestones
My brushes have wandered into some wonderful projects over the years:
- 🎨 Official artist for Wyrmspan — I painted all 198 dragons for Stonemaier Games' fantasy board game
- 💜 Painting for Prince — My art appeared on stage and on his t-shirts (still pinching myself!)
- 👠 Shoes for Jimmy Choo — Custom watercolour illustrations for their collection
- 📰 Editorial work — Covers and illustrations for Vogue, WellBeing magazine, and Santolin Wines
From Paris to Sydney
I'm French-born but Sydney-based, and I love the mix of European artistry and Australian coastal vibes that flows through my work. When I'm not painting, you'll probably find me at the beach surfing, or experimenting with natural pigments in my studio.
Merci for Being Here 💛
Thank you for visiting my colourful little corner of the internet. I hope you find something magical for your walls, or simply enjoy wandering through my world of watercolours.
If you'd like to work together on a custom piece, have questions about my Wyrmspan dragons, or just want to say bonjour, I'd love to hear from you!
