Once upon a time, I painted shoes and bags so fancy and glamorous they felt almost too good to be true.
To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Jimmy Choo and creative director Sandra Choi designed 20 stunning shoes and handbags for the exclusive Momento capsule collection. Each design was inspired by red carpet elegance, featuring exquisite details such as crystals, velvet, metallic finishes, gold embroidery, lace, and intricate embellishments.
I had the incredible honour of being commissioned to illustrate all these designer pieces for the Shoe Trunk, a luxurious showcase housing each of the 20 red carpet styles. Using watercolour, I painted every intricate detail, capturing the shimmering textures, soft fabrics, and iconic silhouettes of Jimmy Choo’s signature designs. It was a dream project; bringing couture fashion to life with brushstrokes.
The final result? Jimmy Choo loved the paintings so much that they decided to showcase them in the official Momento collection catalogue, replacing traditional product photography with our fashion illustrations. It was a true celebration of art and haute couture, blending the worlds of luxury fashion and hand-painted artistry.
